Another rise for BI 7D RRR in September 2022, but this time was up by 50 bps to 4.25%. This is the second hike in 2022 and we think this was not the last for this year. Bank Indonesia tries to adjust the benchmark rate due to the increasing Fed Fund Rate by 75 bps in September 2022. With the current FFR at 3.25%, the spread of benchmark rates between two central banks is 100 bps. The domestic credit growth reached 10.6% yoy in August 2022, slightly lower than 10.7% yoy in July 2022. The increasing benchmark rate has affected bank deposit rates that also inch up. We also notice that the short maturity bond yields will be higher. With these two drivers from deposit rates and bond yield, the returns of money market funds can be better going forward.<\/p>\n
